I own this exact set. I have had it for several months and if I needed to get another set of drivers I wouldn't think twice about purchasing this set again. One thing I was a little surprised about was the weight of the drivers. They're lighter than Wiha's other lines. They still feel solid in your hand and are of great quality, but don't expect a heavy handle. The grip on these drivers is excellent. Even with oil on my hands I'm able to get a good grip on the handles. I'm not usually fond of the softer or coated handles for longevity reasons but these have held up to moderate use so far. They're not quite soft grip, more like coated hard handles. The design is very comfortable as well. I have smaller hands and the fit is great. My friend who borrows a couple of the torx ones also commented on the comfort of these and he has med/large hands. The tips on these drivers are excellent. I can not emphasise how good they are. Awesome set! I have used the Wiha Soft-Finish series and was a bit worried that these, being less expensive, would be inferior. Wow I was wrong. These are great, perhaps better. Comparing the finish and precision of these to hardware store brands is very revealing. Although you may find similar products elsewhere for less, you probably will not get German made, life-long quality that will probably outlast you. That's the difference. If $40, Far-East throw away sets fit your needs, then by all means use them. But if you want to buy a tool once, and keep in forever, buy for quality. |
