Upgrade your headlights and improve your night vision on the road with Kensun HID (High Intensitiy Discharge) Xenon headlights. Emitting a light that is 3 times brighter than ordinary halogen bulbs, HID lights greatly assist the driver in providing a clearer and expanded view of what is ahead. Subsequently, HID kits contribute to driver confidence, making for a more relaxed and safe drive. HID lights have a glass chamber of gas that replaces the filament of traditional halogen light bulbs. The gas is ignited with an approximately 23,000 volt charge and stays illuminated by a constant 12v source that is provided by a ballast which is connected directly to your battery. Remarkably, HID lights are able to provide greater light output with much less power consumption. Studies show that a 35 watt HID lamp produces 3 times as much light compared to a 55 watt halogen bulb. Moreover, the 55 watt halogen bulb uses a continuous power draw of 10-15 amps, while the HID system uses 20 amps for starting up, but then drops down to a mere 3 amps during operation (that is up to 80% less power during use!). In addition to high output and low power usage, the HID headlight provides longer service life. With no filament to vibrate and fatigue, under normal driving conditions, HID bulbs last roughly 10 times longer than halogen bulbs.

I decided to take the plunge because if they were bad the bad reviews surely would have been popping up. I've just been using it for a weekend now but here's my 2 cents so far.Customer service from Kensun itself was great and I felt kinda comfortable knowing my product is backed by a 2 year warranty. I had wanted to purchase a slim ballast kit but couldn't find any available in bi-xenon and 6000K so I contacted the seller and they sorted me out. Upon receiving the product i was impressed with the quality of the wiring and the ballasts. Bulbs also appeared sturdy and everything looked well put together, still I was skeptical because I would be installing these into housings meant for halogen lamps and we know the kind of glare issues these... The low beam and pretty good and and a pretty decente high beam. The warm up time is pretty short and they are holding pretty well, I turn on and off my car a lot, and they handle that pretty well. The cables were a little bit short for my car, but it has a tight feel which is better than a loose one. Also, you have to be careful when installing then, at the first time only one was working, and the other one not, and then only high beam was working, don't get crazy, just change the way you plug then and they will work fine. The ballast are pretty good. I would recommend this item to everyone. So let me tell you a little about the kit... I had this kit installed about two months ago. I read a lot about tech stuff but I am not that good at installations, so I have a buddy who is a profesional car accesories and audio installer and he charged me like 10 dollars for installing the kit. So it helps a lot that Kensun made sure it was a universal easy instalation kit, because even for profesional installers, who normally charge per time spent on each work, if it was super easy to install you end up paying a lot less. So anyway about the performance of the kit, I find it great, I think the color temperature is within it's range of being the best for visibility, as closest to day light as possible, so between 4,100 - 6,000 Kelvin.
